Kitchen confidential post 3

The ending to this book is pretty good. Overall I really enjoyed reading this book and I thought it brought a lot of helpful pointers to the table.  If I could ask the author one question it would be why did you like to hop from restaurant to restaurant so much? I want to know this because I was wondering if it gave you a better feel for the restaurant business or if you just got sick of places easily and moved on?

Ready Player One- Main Person

My main character name is Wade. Like my favorite basketball player Dwayne Wade. Wade is an a intelligent kid who had a rough childhood. He lost his parents when he was really young but they taught him how to surf the web and how to do things with computers. But now he lives with his terrible aunt who will take anything of his that she can sell for drug money. He always online and i say it's because he wants to escape his problems in the real world. Because there is nothing really for him in the real world. He is a lot smarter than any other character so far just because he spent so much time online it basically a unlimited free library! I admire Wade because he doesn't let anything hold him back if it's his terrible aunt or not having a father or mother there for him. He shows no weakness and is successful in anything he does. He reminds me of myself in some way just because when i grew up i lived on a farm where the closest neighbor was miles away so i spent all my time learning random facts as well. The difference is he uses his random facts.

Woman Thou Art Loosed

This book reveals alot of lifes hurts and pains in girl and women, along with the annodote on how to be free of the chains and bondages of yesterdays hurts and pains to begin healing.  Sometimes it is easier to just bury our pains of the past in a chest and sealing them there, rather than to deal with them. However the reality is that we can't bury our past hurts/pains and never deal with it because it will surely arise up in your future, and this can cause trust issues, insecurities and even loneliness not knowing how to have a relationship.  This author gives scriptures and hope through faith in God and letting God heal you from your yesterdays..........

Book. Hey Stoopid

The main character in my book Hey Stoopid's name is Jack. He is a 13 year old boy who had to grow up without a mom because they didn't like the fact that he was profoundly brain damaged. He was brain damaged because she did drugs when she was pregnant with him and she expected him to be normal and perfect. No one is perfect, but he is an extraordinary kid.

I hate the fact that he got made fun of all the time and had to pass as a normal kid in tough classes.
The teacher would make him stay in the classroom until he finished his work. He was not allowed to go to recess until it was done. Which I think is so wrong. For a kid who has severely learning disabilities,  shouldn't be treated like that.

I would have to say I don't admire Jack, but I do appreciate him, and accept him for who he is as a person, not by what a doctors says he is. Jack reminds me of all the severely profound that I haven/taken care of. People don't realize that they are just like us. They have feelings to. I am so involved with helping kids like this that last year I went to all the school dances with the same boy who had turrets and ADHD. And this year on my birthday I went to homecoming with a kid who can't talk, is in a wheelchair, but full of joy.

This book is the best book I've ever read!

Observation

My character that I choose is Bessy the maid. She is a 16 years old,she has brown hair and isn't to tall. Her motivation is to impress her missus first and now her motivation is to scare the missus to believe there is a ghost in the house. The reason that Bessy wanted to scare her like that is because missus had a book that she wrote about Bessy in and the stuff that she wrote about her wasn't never nice. Bessy became a maid when her master or husband i don't know which one really didn't explain in the book, but when he died Bessy had to leave so when she was walking to find a new place a residence she stumbled upon the missus.I don't think Bessy has any big things about her only that she is caring and polite and is a good maid. For an example the missus kept hearing things at night through the house and stuff was moved out of place so the missus though is was the old maid Nora haunting her since Nora died but it was Bessy pulling a prank on the missus. So when the missus went up to the attic with Bessy they found writing on the window and the missus had a horrible fainting spell so Bessy slept next to her and watched over her throw the night and still did her chores. The passed has shaped Bessy by making better choices so far through her life. She use to a prostitute with her mom when she was younger but then she ran away from that and went to Mr.Levy house how she use to work for. He thought her how to read and write so that has help Bessy get the job as the maid. I am neutral on the character i don't disapprove or approve of her. Shes not my favorite or hate her I don't know why though. Nope she does not remind me of anyone I know.
Well the main character is a very interesting character.  The reason I think this is because of the way he acts.  He is like an adult at such a young age.  I don't really think that is good and that reason is because who wants to hangout with a teenager that acts like an adult. If you act like an adult you won't want to do all the stupid things that teenagers do and that is so fun just taking risks and getting away with it.  It is one of the best things in the world.  He kind of reminds me of me because he loves the game of football and is so passionate about it.  I am so passionate about basketball no matter what I can't give it up either.

Modoc

Modoc is a very heart touching story about the strong bond between a young boy named Bram and his best friend Modoc who is a circus elephant. they were both born on the same day and one the same hour. the main character which is Bram losses Modoc due to the circus being shut down and sold to a Mr. North. Bram does everything in his power to be with Modoc and even sneaks upon the ship that's headed over seas to America.
The ship ends up sinking in the ocean due to a very large storm, luckily Modoc and Bram are rescued and end up in India. Bram does all this because  his father told him take care of Modoc before he died on his death bed.
Bram has had a lot of life experiences that many of us will never have and it all seems to be for the best. while in India he was allowed to meet the Famous Albino Elephant that was sacred to India and was cared for by a highly elite Elephant trainer. Bram gain their respect and is given a necklace that it is a symbol of high status wherever he went in India.

Kitchen Confidential!!!!!!!!!!!:)

The main character in my book is Anthony Bourdain. And let me tell you he is one heck of a guy, he has gone from kitchen to kitchen he has worked under Chefs he has managed chefs. Anthony has been around the block a time or two. He has a very odd personality he can go from calm and collected to Crazy in any minute but sometimes I wonder if that's just the life of a chef, because they work under hard standards and they don't have time mess ups or mistakes  when there preparing a customers meal. He has been a very interesting guy to read about because hes all over the board! in the beginning of the book till at least halfway through hes doing drugs everyday, and he would work in kitchen where drugs were supplied from the bartender or head chef, but he seems to turn around and all of the sudden he stops mentioning that hes doing drugs all of the time, so I figured that he quit.

You know at first I wasn't sure about Anthony and what his journey was going to be like. But after reading most of his book so far I give him props he has moved around so many times and because of this gained many skills and I really admire his hard work and dedication to the kitchen. Some of the stuff I have read has cracked  me up and other things made me realize just how tough it gets, and I think that's what makes his book so interesting and sometimes he explains things out so well its like almost right there with him. he one very talented chef and I admire his hard work.

You know I have always had a love for cooking, and that's why I am pursuing a Culinary Arts degree now. But growing up in the small town that I did it was at least 20 -25 minutes drive to work at any restaurant and I just was interested in driving that far. I always worked at local places just minutes from my house. After reading his book I know that I'm making the right choice though because I cant wait to feel that crazy rush when the kitchen is flooded with orders and everything goes just right.

Anthony to me is a really inspiring person, yes maybe he did drugs and hit some all time lows but he pulled through and is turning kitchen mistakes into kitchen mater pieces well trying at least and sometimes they fail and sometimes they don't, but that's life that's any business not just a restaurant. I really believe that he has a passion for cooking.

Safe Haven!!!!! (second post)

Katie Feldman is the main character of the novel. She works as a waitress at Ivan's and is 27 years old. She rents a small cottage nearby, which is an old hunting cabin sitting at the end of a gravel road. She dyes her hair a brown color and cuts her own hair. Naturally, she is a blonde and her real name is Erin Tierney. She steals the identity of Katie Feldman from her old neighbors. Katie is their daughter who died. While she is friendly and efficient as a waitress, she doesn't tend to be too chatty with the customers or even her co-workers.
Katie chooses to keep to herself because she is hiding from her abusive husband. Erin had come to Southport after running away from her husband and marriage in Dorchester, Massachusetts. Katie is quiet hard working and determined, after she got the cottage she did all the remodeling herself. Katie is a strong individual, because it takes a strong woman to remove them self from a bad situation, she was in an abusive marriage for years but when she couldn't take it anymore she said enough is enough, she packed her stuff and ran as far as she can. Katie past has shaped her for the better, if she hadn't gotten out the her abusive marriage it could have ended worst. if it wasn't for her abusive past she wouldn't have found Alex the love of her life, if it wasn't for her past she wouldn't be independent, if it wasn't for her past she would still be getting abused, so her past has change her life for the better. I admire Katie because her character goes to show that if you want something to be done have have to have the courage and will to do so yourself, I also admire her because she's an strong individual. Her character I wouldn't say reminds me exactly of someone but I know some powerful women in my life, like my mom, my sisters or my aunts they're all very strong women who goes after whatever they want.

Free Book Project

The book "The Summons" is a very good book to read. It is written by John Grisham. This book is like being in a mystery sort of scene. It talks about these two brothers: Ray and Forrest meet with his father, but to find out that the Judge died in his study. Ray starts finding boxes with money in them and was wondering where the judge received the amount of money. There are still questions that are lingering inside my head. That is how interesting this book is. I do wonder what is going to happen when I keep on reading.

Safe Haven!!!!!!!!

Safe Haven Is a romantic and mysterious book written by Nicholas Sparks. Katie the main character of the book moves to a small town in North Carolina called  Southport and establishes a new life. Katie works as a waitress at Ivan's local seafood restaurant. Even though Katie is new to the town, she seems to keep to herself, as if she is trying to hide something. Katie later starts to befriend her new neighbor , a woman in her mid thirties named Jo. As Jo and Katie get o know each other, Katie finds herself adoring the friendship she builds with Jo.

My experience with the book so far is amazeeee-ingg. its probably my fourth favorite romance novel after The Notebook, Titanic, Twilight Saga its right there in the fourth spot. This book is really good I'm experiencing so many emotions while reading this book! The book was very slow it took awhile for it to grab my attention but as i read on and start asking myself questions it had me intrigued, there's so much mystery and questions it keeps me guessing and i like that about it. While reading this book my emotions has been one big roller coaster I've cried, Asked myself multiple questions about whats going on and I've been engaged! I'm curious to know how this book will end but its been so good so far that I for sure want to watch the movie.

Kitchen Confidential

I really like the book Kitchen Confidential. It is about the kitchen and Anthony's journey through kitchens upon kitchens. When I first started reading this book I just wasn't  sure if it was going to be good, because the begining of the book was slow getting into it. When I read this book it makes me feel alive inside.

Woman Thou Art Loosed

The reading of this book is remarkable, it takes you back to your past issues, hurts and explains how to release them and how to allow healing take place.  It gives you characteristics of indiuvuals who have been abused as a child, not only as little girls but also as little boys.  This book is about a women's hurt steming from being as a young child up to their adult life, but what i like about the author, is that he also regonized little boys.  Their hurts and pains.  How their are many forms of abuse mental, physical, and sexual.  How they are ususal from someone who the child knows.

The author imparts that although we have past hurts we must FORGIVE and that this would be the beginning of the healing process. That through forgiveness the bondage and chains that are inbeded in our lives will be broken.  This is a very inspiring book and it makes you do a self check over your life, you see sometimes we think that we have forgiven someone who has hurt us and find out that we really have not.  Let you see that person and that hatred tries to arise.

So Far..

I am reading the book Hey Stoopid by Judith Lane. The main character's name is Jack. His mom thought he was the most beautiful, most perfect son she ever had. Until... she found out when he was 2 years old that he was profoundly retarded. Then she dropped him off at her moms, left, never came back, and never called to check up on him. His grandmother died when he was 13 years old. That left him to fend for himself. One night he was scrounging through a dumpster, when a social worker found him and found him a shelter. He was profoundly brain damaged from the drugs his mother took when she was pregnant. All the kids always made fun of him.

The book got my attention right away because it's about the severely profound and I've helped out the handicaped my whole life. The book makes me happy and mad at the same time.

Ready Player One- Ernest Cline

Let's see this book is about a kid who lost his Mom and Dad when he was younger. But is now brought up in a sky scraper type of trailer park called the stacks. By his aunt and her boyfriend who want nothing from him except anything that they could sell for drug money. The only way that this boy can escape is by going to school online. But wait online school? Like reading a text book or something in that nature? No, he goes to school in a video game,,, how much cooler is that. What I've read so far the whole point of this online world is to find the egg. But no one knows where the egg is but they know you need 3 keys to get it. No one knows where the keys are but private company payed "players" to find the keys for them. Which are the most hated people because it ruins the whole hunt for the keys.

I got engaged in this book right away because it makes sense. I can relate somewhat to what the author is saying about the computer parts and video game experiences and ect. It goes in to great detail that actually matters if you know about computers and gaming.

When I read this book i honestly kind of go into another virtual world myself because i can picture this book perfectly, like i said it goes into great detail but it makes sense and better to read if you pay attention to it because you can imagine it.

I can't wait to read more thank you for suggesting this book to me.

observation

My book is called The Observation by Jane Harris. So far from what I have read in the book there is a girl names Bessy who had to leave her old place of serves because the guy died who she use to work for. She meets an annoying boy on her journey to find a new job. She really does not care for they boy. As shes walking she  walks past a girl who was a maid. The girl was kind of different. After passing the girl she wonders past a house and sees a lady that is trying to catch a pig that got out of its pen. After they catch the pig the women asked Bessy if she is any good at farm work and Bessy said yes which was a lie. The women found that out fast after bessy couldn't milk a cow. The women found out the Bessy could read and write so she hired as a house maid. The lady gave Bessy writing lessons and reading lessons. She also gave bessy a book to write in. One day the lady husband came home and they went out to eat. Bessy went snooping in the lady room and found her journal. The lady found out where bessy actually came from and it was a whore house.
I like the book its not boring and kind is weird and making you think the the heck is going on. It is not to hard or easy of a read it is in between which is nice!
I was engaged like the 5 page in it was just saying about where the bessy was heading so not much was happening but I am really enjoying the book.
I like reading if the book is interesting if its just boring and not really grabbing my attention its not my favorite thing to do. But I am enjoying the book I have now.
Well I am reading a When Pride Still Mattered.  This is a really great book and the reason for this is because it is about one of the greatest coaches in the NFL.  He took pride in what he did as a coach.  This applies to me because I want to become a coach in the future and I have the pride for coaching in what I do.
In this book he is more relatable to adults then he is to students.  I would just hate if I was like that but he has a lot of adults in his family.  Wouldn't you think he would be made fun of by his friends.  He also had to learn to be an adult earlier than what he should have been.  He bossed around his siblings and his friends.  I am surprised he actually has friends for how bossy he is.

Woman Thou Art Loosed

This book is about women who have had struggles, disappointments, and who have been abused whether its been mental ,physical, or sexual and the struggles they have had to endure.  Trying to overcome yesterday's pain but yet not knowing how to.  It's hard to become productive in life, to obtain your life dreams and goals with so much hurt.  These issues of not trusting anyone or allowing anyone to get too close to you plays a role until healing takes place, and we need each others hands in life to help guide us in becoming successful.  I choose this book because it was once my story.

The new book

The next book i'm reading is "Ready Player One" by Earnest Cline. I picked this book truly i only started to read it because you recommended it to me. At first I thought I'd Jut read it to get it out of the way. I really only read a couple  of books that I liked so when I am told to read a book i'm not usually into it and I won't give it a chance. But when i started reading this book I got into it quickly just because i can relate to so many things and I am having actually fun reading this book but i'm not that far and that's what i love. I'm at the begging and there a long way to the end and if it's a fun read right now I can't wait to see what the rest of what book is like!
The next book I'll be reading is "The five people you meet in heaven" by Mitch Albom. It got my attention just by hear a quick short summary and it turned out that I wanted to read it myself! Other people had recommended me to read it and that I gets you really emotional since its known to be a sad story. The way I see it its like a tester. It'll help me finally decide whether I'm super sensitive, emotional at times or hardly ever. I'm really looking forward to reading this book and finally getting some answers and getting to know more about myself.

book im reading!!! (Nickolas Sparks, Safe Haven) ;)

When a mysterious young woman name Katie appears in the small North Carolina town of Southport, her sudden arrival raises questions about her past. Beautiful yet self-effacing, Katie seems determined to avoid forming personal ties until a series of events draws her into two reluctant relationships: one with her plainspoken neighbor, Jo; and another with Alex, A widowed store owner. Katie slowly begins to relax her guard, putting down roots in the community and becoming increasingly attached to Alex and his family.

As Katie begins to fall in love, she struggles with the dark secret that still haunts her. With Jo's support, Katie eventually realizes that she must choose between a life of transient safety and one of riskier rewards.....and that in the darkest hour, love is the only true safe haven. :D

I chose this book because I'm a sucker for romance! I haven't read a good romance book in a while so I'm looking forward to crying its been awhile also since I cried at a good love story.

Free Book Project

The book that I chose is "The Summons" by John Grisham. This book is interesting to me because it shows part of the dome from the Capital Building. From what I have read from the back of the book and the first couple of chapters is that a judge from Mississippi is dying, so he calls up a summons to his two sons and wants a family meeting.

Book for Free Reading

The book called "Midnight in the garden of goo and evil" by John Berendt. The book is about real people from Savannah, Georgia. I really do not know what to except from this book because its kind of different do it should be interesting. It has women comparing their husband's suicide letters, a voodoo priest, and a foul-mouth black drag queen. I just feel that this book has a lot in stored for me and whoever else reads this book.
I chose to read the book Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain. I decided to read this book, after Mrs. Kepros was explaining it to me at our last ten minute meeting we had. I feel like this is going to be a good book and that it is going to be about the "real stuff" that happens in professional restaurant kitchens.

book i choose

I choose the book Modoc, by Ralph Helfer. there is a picture of an elephant and a young boy on the front cover, and that right away caught my eye. from what i read on the back cover of the book it is about a young boy and a circus elephant that form one of the strongest bonds every imaginable.

Free Reading book of my choice.

I chose the book Hey, Stoopid by Judith Lane, because on the back of the book for the description all it says is "When we say "Retard" Two souls die a little." That to me sounds like it is a book about people like me the mental and physically disabled people get made fun of, bullied, and called mean names. It reminds me of one of my favorite quotes by Scott Hamilton, "The only disability in life is a BAD ATTITUDE." Treat others as you wish to be treated. They are just like everyone else they are people and they have feelings.
