Good vs. Evil

There’s a thin line between good and evil, Good versus evil has been a classic contrast used for centuries, Its been used in films, books ,and even children novels. What is an act of good or evil? The things that we know, the things that we believe, are not our own ideas or thoughts, that is a known fact. Everything we know and believe was influenced by our upbringings, our family, friends and societies. Good always outweighs evil in the sense that God is good and can overcome any evil set before him.
A perfect example of man committing evil is Adolf Hitler, the man responsible for the  Holocaust, the holocaust was the most heinous tragedy of all time. Events of the Holocaust were so extreme and unfathomable that many survivors, who had previously been devoted lovers of God, rejected the idea of an almighty altogether. After all, how could a God stand by and allow such misery to occur? In the book ‘Night” Elie Wiesel is devoted to his religion but as he experience the horror of the camp he begins to question his faith.” I was the accuser, God the accused”. As the book progresses  others on the camp also begin to question their faith. They witness horror to the extreme “ For God’s sake, where is God.”   Another example of evil trying to prevail is with Elie and his father, Elie and his father had a strong bond all throughout,  but as they spend more and more time on the camp Elie starts seeing his dad as a burden, he had thoughts on how he would have more chance of survival if his dad was not with him or if his dad was dead, “Yet at the same time a thought crept into my mind: If only I didn't find him! If only I were relieved of this responsibility, I could use all my strength to fight for my own survival, to take care only of myself”.  This is a classic example of evil trying to take over good, and good finding a way to prevail. Elie had these thoughts but he stuck by his father side till his death. We all have bad days where we have negative thoughts, whether its good or bad, but having the will to choose is what makes us human.
