Hatchet
My favorite book is Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. Having a young kid get stuck on a island with nothing other then a hatchet is a great plot. Having to survive on skills he learned from his grandfather and trying to find a way to get rescued without being killed by bears was just a thrilling read. The kid learns he took a lot for granted in his life before all he could think about for a couple of chapters was just a burger from a fast food place. I don't think anyone really craves anything like that until it gone with no way to get another one.

Gary Paulsen is a great author and Hatchet is one of his most popular books for sure. My favorite of his books is Harris and Me. It's so funny and a bit crude! You should check it out.
ReplyDeleteHatchet is a good book to read. Its surprising that this kid survived from mother nature and using the surroundings around him all from his grandfather.
ReplyDeleteHatchet was one of the first books I red in high school. I also watch the movies. The part that got me was the "bear". I loved how the bear was running after him. Hatchet is a very good book.
