After watching the videos of Oprah talking with Elie and sharing his story, its unbelievable what he went through watching the people he loved, die. The amount of people who lived their last moments on Earth before dying.
What I cannot even imagine is that 75% of the people, whether its women, children or elderly people were sent to either the gas chambers or to the crematorium to be incinerated and the 25% of people left were working slaves living a truthful torture. People working and running is just crazy.
Who would even want to work in such a place like that, or even live during that time, working?
When we hear the #s, it is powerful to sit back and realize the amount of people killed immediately upon arriving at the concentration camps. Do you think anyone wanted to live or work? Why do you think they maintained their will for life in such despair?
ReplyDeleteit was a very difficult time for the Jewish people, but those who lived can share their story so history does not repeat itself.
